Leaders – Dis the baggage
Not everyone can join you where God is taking you. If you don’t accept and embrace this truth, you will limit the possibilities of your life. Many leaders I coach struggle with this truth. They underestimate the energy it takes to get to the next level.
As fellow believers they feel a choice to “dis the baggage” is not loving. Streamlining your load is not dissing the person, rather it is saying “yes” to those things that you are called to say “yes” to. It doesn’t mean that you ignore the person, rather with confidence understand your priorities that God has given you. Where God is taking you requires fuel for that passion, people, physical strength, spiritual fortitude, financial increase and balance of life for the race.
Less is more
John 15:2 New Living Translation
“He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.”
As John writes in chapter 15, God is the one who cuts off everything that isn’t for our best. He prunes things in our lives that will cultivate greater growth. Practically this requires us to hear those things He desires we say no to and yes.
Leaders cannot afford extra weight as you move forward. Whatever it is that doesn’t help you climb to where God is leading, becomes an extra burden to manage. It takes great energy and laser focus to further the purpose of God in your life. If you would like help to move forward, I would love an opportunity to walk with you. Find out more here!
Today ask Jesus what areas in your life have become unnecessary burdens. Invite Him to share with you in those places that He desires to prune that will leverage greater impact.
Recently I unloaded mentoring relationships that were bogging me down. Further, I reduced commitments that were weakening my focus. Lastly I rededicated myself to self-care including exercise, rest and planning and preparing better meal selections. What will you do?
